WEST HAVEN, Utah — A woman was discovered dead inside her home following a devastating fire on Tuesday, February 11. Officials from the Weber Fire District confirmed the fatality after fire crews battled the blaze and began an investigation into the cause.
The fire broke out at a residence located on 4450 West around 6 p.m. When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found the house fully engulfed in flames. Despite their efforts to contain the fire, crews later located the woman’s body inside the home.
Authorities stated that the victim was the sole occupant of the house. She was not found near the point of origin, which is believed to be in the upstairs area of the home. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“We are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event,” said a spokesperson for the Weber Fire District. “At this point, we cannot confirm the exact cause, but we are thoroughly looking into all possibilities.”
The identity of the deceased woman has not been released, pending notification of family members.
