OGDEN, Utah – Inmates 70 and older at the Utah State Prison got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Monday as part of a statewide effort to inoculate older Utahns. Meanwhile the Utah Department of Health reported 859 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths Monday, numbers that continue a downward trend in the seven-day average for new positives. Medical workers administered the Moderna vaccine to 79 inmates at the prison’s Draper site starting Monday and will continue through the week. OGDEN, Utah – A Utah man is behind bars after he allegedly threatened to set off an explosive device if records staff at the Ogden City Police Department didn’t “restore his rights.” Donald Michael Hammans, 41, was booked into jail on charges of threat of terrorism, a second-degree felony, and right of way – stop signs, an infraction, according to a probable cause statement. Hammans reportedly went to the police department on Dec. 31, 2020, demanding that his rights be restored. He then allegedly pulled out what appeared to be a lighter and container with liquid inside.
