Salt Lake City, UT — A man was arrested Friday afternoon after police observed what appeared to be a drug deal taking place near Library Square. The incident occurred just before 4:45 p.m. in the area of 500 South and 200 East, where officers noticed two men exchanging cash for a small blue baggie. After the exchange, the two individuals parted ways, walking in opposite directions. Police followed and stopped the man they believed had purchased the drugs. Ogden, UT — A Washington City woman has been sentenced to 36 months of probation after being convicted of stealing veteran disability benefits, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah. Tiffany Ann Bright, 39, was also ordered to pay $150,000 in restitution for her role in the scheme, which lasted nearly a decade. Bright pleaded guilty to wire fraud and theft of government funds in October 2024.
