Ogden, UT – A fatal accident occurred Wednesday night on U.S. 91 in Brigham City when a driver, standing outside their disabled vehicle, was struck and killed by another car. According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden, the incident unfolded near 1100 South, just before the merge lane from I-15.
The driver’s car had broken down and was partially positioned in a traffic lane when it was sideswiped by another vehicle. The driver was standing outside the car at the time of the crash.
Investigators believe the lights on the disabled vehicle may have been off when the collision occurred, potentially contributing to the tragedy. Emergency responders arrived on the scene but were unable to save the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. This marks another reminder of the dangers faced by stranded motorists and the importance of staying safe when encountering a breakdown.
