SALT LAKE CITY, UT — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday evening, marking the second traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City this year.
At approximately 6:15 p.m. on March 1, authorities responded to a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck at 1700 South State Street. Upon arrival, first responders found the motorcyclist in critical condition. Paramedics transported the individual to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement officials, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD). No further details about the crash or the identities of those involved have been released.
In response to the crash, SLCPD issued traffic diversions in the area. Southbound traffic on State Street was redirected at Kensington Avenue, while westbound traffic on 1700 South was diverted to northbound State Street.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident. This fatality marks the second traffic-related death in Salt Lake City in 2025.
