Salt Lake City, UT — In a significant drug enforcement action, Salt Lake City Police Department’s bike squad officers seized approximately six and a half pounds of methamphetamine along with more than $6,200 in cash believed to be linked to drug activity.
The seizure occurred Saturday morning near 2100 South Redwood Road when officers responded to reports of a possible drug deal around 9 a.m. Upon investigation, police discovered about 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine inside the vehicle of an alleged buyer. Further search led to the recovery of an additional 4.3 pounds of meth in a suspect’s hotel room.
Authorities also confiscated over $6,200 in cash, which officials suspect is proceeds from illegal drug sales. Salt Lake City Police Chief described the bust as “a major win” for the city’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and related crimes.
The investigation remains active, and police have not yet released the identities of those involved or any potential charges filed. The department emphasized that such operations are critical to maintaining public safety and curbing the flow of dangerous narcotics in the community.
