SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Fifteen-year-old Alisa Petrov, who had been missing for six weeks, was found safe after walking into a police department in Colorado Springs on Sunday evening.
Officials from the South Jordan Police Department confirmed that Petrov was in good health and under the care of Colorado authorities. However, they declined to release further details, citing their juvenile policy that restricts information sharing involving minors.
The circumstances surrounding Petrov’s disappearance and how she arrived in Colorado remain unclear. Authorities have not confirmed whether she was held against her will during the missing period.
As of early Monday morning, Petrov’s parents were collaborating with the South Jordan Police Department to facilitate her return home.
The community continues to await further updates as the investigation remains ongoing.
