SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — It has been over a month since 15-year-old Alisa Petrov was last seen on surveillance footage in Provo, Utah. Despite multiple arrests linked to her disappearance, the teenager remains missing, leaving law enforcement and the community searching for answers.
Three men have been arrested in connection with Alisa’s case. The most recent arrest occurred in South Jordan after a Utah man voluntarily turned himself in. Authorities identified the suspects as Samuel Teancum Mitchell of Herriman, Utah; Matthew Nicholas Menard of Miami, Florida; and William Taylor Glines of Texas City, Texas. All three face charges related to sexual exploitation and enticement of a minor. Police confirmed that the suspects had been in communication with Alisa prior to her disappearance.
Since the announcement of the arrests, South Jordan Police have released little additional information. With Alisa still missing more than a month after she was last seen in April, many are left questioning her whereabouts and the progress of the investigation.
Private Investigator Grant Roll of Trident Investigations offered his perspective on the ongoing case during an interview with KUTV. Roll explained that law enforcement typically begins by interviewing family and friends, reviewing surveillance footage, and pursuing any leads tied to the missing person’s last known location.
“I think South Jordan police, like most departments, are doing their absolute best to locate her,” Roll said.
Regarding the timing of the arrests, Roll emphasized that law enforcement often exercises caution to ensure proper legal procedures are followed. “It’s their job to err on the side of caution and lean on the district attorney to inform them when and how and where to make an arrest so they can get a proper conviction,” he added.
Roll expressed confidence in local authorities’ commitment to solving the case but acknowledged that such investigations take time. “We won’t find her if we don’t ask the right questions, and we won’t find her if we don’t find the right people, and unfortunately, that takes time,” he said.
As the investigation continues, the community remains hopeful that Alisa Petrov will be found and brought safely home.
