WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A 24-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly shooting two men during a heated verbal altercation on Sunday afternoon. Osue Valentin Alarcon has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, two counts of felony discharge of a firearm, and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person.
The incident unfolded near 3038 South Timeron Drive, prompting several calls to the West Valley City Police Department about a shooting in the area. Upon arriving at the scene, officers were directed to the northwest corner of Timeron Drive and Snowbush Lane, where they discovered the first victim. The man had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his hand and abdomen, but despite his injuries, he was able to identify Alarcon as the shooter.
Both victims were quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment, and Alarcon was taken into custody without further incident. Police investigators found several pieces of evidence at the scene, including unspent shell casings in the driveway, a bloody magazine, and bloodstains on two vehicles. A blood trail leading from the shooting location to a nearby residence further confirmed the violent altercation.
Witnesses inside the residence told police they had seen Alarcon and the victims involved in a verbal argument outside just before the shooting. However, the witnesses claimed they had gone inside before the shots were fired. Alarcon, when questioned by officers, denied any involvement and repeatedly stated that he had no recollection of the events.
A search warrant has been authorized for Alarcon’s residence and the vehicles at the scene, as investigators continue to gather evidence related to the shooting. Alarcon is currently being held at the Salt Lake County Metro Jail while the case moves forward through the legal system.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation. Alarcon is expected to face a court appearance in the coming days as the legal process begins.
