OGDEN, Utah – Emily Anderson was tragically killed on Sunday, in Ogden when her vehicle was struck by a speeding driver, who was allegedly under the influence at the time of the collision.
According to police, Anderson, 39, was in her Mitsubishi Lancer at 12th Street and Washington Boulevard when a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 29-year-old Bryce Owens struck her from behind at a high rate of speed. Owens also sideswiped a Dodge truck. Sadly, Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Owens was booked into the Weber County Jail on an existing warrant and homicide charges are pending against him in the death of Anderson. According to a GoFundMe page set up by Anderson’s family: “An impaired driver with an outstanding warrant took her from her children, granddaughter and the rest of her family.”
Anderson’s beloved family described her as goofy, kind, and hard-headed. Most of all, her family said, she was loved deeply and will be sorely missed.
