OGDEN, Utah – Police said prosecutors are considering automobile homicide charges after a crash Sunday night in Ogden left one person dead.
The crash happened at 12th Street and Washington Boulevard.
Authorities said a 39-year-old woman was stopped at the intersection when a man driving an SUV rammed into the back of the car. The woman was killed in the crash.
The victim’s identity has not been released, though officials said she was a 39-year-old from Box Elder County.
The driver of the SUV was identified as Bryce Owens, 29. Police said they suspect impairment and distracted driving contributed to the incident.
Owens was arrested on an unrelated warrant, according to a statement from the Ogden City Police Department. The charges of automobile homicide will be screen d with the Weber County Attorney’s Office.
