SALT LAKE CITY, UT — A man was arrested near the Salt Lake City International Airport Monday morning by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
Brent Weisberg, spokesperson for the Salt Lake Police Department, confirmed that the arrest took place around 8:15 a.m. during a traffic stop on the road leading to the airport’s car rental return area.
While ICE officers initiated the arrest, Salt Lake police responded to the scene shortly thereafter. The individual, who has not been publicly identified, was taken into custody due to at least one active arrest warrant.
Weisberg also noted that the man “may be under investigation for other alleged crimes.” However, further details surrounding the investigation remain unclear as authorities continue to gather information.
