Washington City, Utah — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred in Washington City as 47-year-old Andreea Mottram, a woman originally from Romania and residing in Auburn, California, at the time of her death. The incident has left the local community in shock, and tributes from her friends and family have flooded social media since news of her death broke more than a week ago.

While law enforcement has yet to release official details surrounding the case, a family obituary and a GoFundMe campaign set up in Mottram’s name have been widely shared, including by local news outlet KUTV. The campaign, which is still accepting donations, is helping the family cover funeral expenses as well as the cost of airfare for relatives and friends in Romania who wish to attend her funeral.

Mottram, a mother who was described as the backbone of a supportive and loving family, was remembered by those who knew her. Iris Agis, a former registered behavioral technician who worked closely with Mottram and her family, expressed her shock at the loss. Agis described Mottram as an exceptional mother and praised the tight-knit and nurturing dynamic within the family. “I’ve never worked with a family more supportive,” Agis said, emphasizing how Mottram’s death has left a significant void for her loved ones.

Agis also noted that news of the tragedy has been slowly circulating in the Auburn area, where Mottram lived at the time, though the full details of the case remain scarce. Authorities have confirmed that two minors are being considered persons of interest in the investigation, but no further information has been provided regarding their potential involvement.

The GoFundMe campaign describes Mottram’s death as “unexpected” and urges the public to support the family during this difficult time. As the investigation continues, the Washington City community and Mottram’s loved ones are left to cope with the devastating loss of a woman who touched many lives.

As of now, law enforcement officials have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, and the case remains under investigation.
