South Jordan, Utah – A firefighter with the South Jordan Fire Department tragically passed away while on duty Monday afternoon. The incident occurred at Fire Station 61, where the firefighter was found unresponsive in his room just after 2 p.m. Despite immediate efforts from colleagues to provide life-saving measures, and assistance requested from nearby stations, the firefighter was later transported to Jordan Valley Hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
In a statement released by the South Jordan Fire Department, officials extended their deepest condolences to the firefighter’s family, colleagues, and loved ones during this heartbreaking time. The department has chosen to withhold the identity of the firefighter as of now, and no further details, including memorial arrangements, have been made public.
