Ogden, UT – Ogden Police Chief Jake Sube has been recognized as the 2026 Large Agency Chief of the Year by the Utah Chiefs of Police Association.
Officials said Chief Sube has quickly built a supportive and high-performing culture at the department, where officers are motivated to do their jobs with integrity. Under his leadership, the department achieved its highest staffing levels in history, including a 400% increase in lateral hires, while officer attrition dropped by 63%.
Proactive policing efforts have risen, Part I crime has decreased by 14%, and use-of-force incidents reached their lowest recorded levels. Department leaders noted that the recognition reflects not only these measurable achievements but also the culture and leadership Chief Sube has established.
Officials said the department is fortunate to be guided by Chief Sube, whose leadership continues to advance both officer performance and community safety.
