Utah – Utah Gov. Spencer Cox reminded farmers and ranchers that applications are open for the Utah Food Security Grant, an opportunity aimed at strengthening the state’s agricultural supply chain.
Cox highlighted the challenges many Utah producers face, noting that farmers and ranchers often lack nearby options to process, store and distribute the products they grow and raise.
Through the federal Rural Health Transformation Program, the grant is intended to help address those gaps by supporting efforts that allow producers to reach more customers, keep economic activity in rural communities and improve access to fresh, locally produced food.
The governor encouraged eligible applicants to take advantage of the program, with applications for the Utah Food Security Grant open through Sept. 9.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support Utah’s agricultural industry and help rural communities strengthen their local food systems.
