Ogden, UT – The Ogden City Fire Department defeated the Ogden City Police Department in this year’s annual Guns & Hoses softball game, ending the police department’s two-year winning streak.
The Ogden City Police Department shared the results in a social media post, joking that its hopes for a third consecutive victory were over after firefighters claimed the trophy.
The game took place at Lindquist Field, bringing together police officers, firefighters, other first responders and members of the community for an afternoon of friendly competition.
Although police did not take home the trophy this year, the department said the event featured good weather, plenty of laughs and an opportunity to spend time with fellow first responders and the community they serve.
Police congratulated the fire department on its victory and thanked everyone who attended and cheered on the teams.
The department also made it clear that the friendly rivalry is not over, promising to return next year for another chance to reclaim the title.
“We work together every day, but it’s always fun to compete against each other once in a while,” the police department wrote, adding that firefighters could enjoy their bragging rights until next year’s game.
