OGDEN, Utah – An inmate at the Davis County Jail was found dead Wednesday night and authorities say it was a suicide. This is the 11th death at the Davis County Jail since 2016, which prompted Davis County Sheriff Kelly V. Sparks to implement policy changes last year. The inmate, whose name was not released, was a 33-year-old male who had been at the jail for approximately four months. OGDEN, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Tuesday reported 17 more COVID-17 deaths and 1,411 more positive cases confirmed in the past 24 hours. That brings the total positive cases to 338,675 and cumulative deaths to 1,613. One death reported on Jan. 23 had been subtracted because if was discovered the victim was from Nevada, not Salt Lake County as had been believed.
