UTAH – In its first convening of the new session, the Utah House Health and Human Services voted on a variety of proposed health legislation on topics ranging from health care for the homeless to vaccine reporting. House Bill 34, sponsored by Rep. Jim Dunnigan, would establish a medical care respite program for homeless individuals in need of physical or mental health care. OGDEN, Utah – Police said prosecutors are considering automobile homicide charges after a crash Sunday night in Ogden left one person dead. The crash happened at 12th Street and Washington Boulevard. Authorities said a 39-year-old woman was stopped at the intersection when a man driving an SUV rammed into the back of the car. The woman was killed in the crash. The victim’s identity has not been released, though officials said she was a 39-year-old from Box Elder County. The driver of the SUV was identified as Bryce Owens, 29.
