 West Jordan, UT – A West Jordan man was arrested on Wednesday and charged with animal cruelty and drug possession after allegedly strangling his dog and burying it in his backyard. Michael George Orfanos, 30, was charged in 3rd District Court on Thursday with one count of torture of a companion animal, a third-degree felony, and one count of drug possession, a Class A misdemeanor. Ogden, UT — A rollover crash on Friday morning left two people injured, one critically, according to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP). The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. on northbound I-15 near 24th Street. Authorities report that the vehicle, for reasons still under investigation, veered off the roadway and rolled over. Both occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
