LAYTON, Utah — A Layton City crossing guard was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while assisting students near Vae View Elementary School. Authorities have identified the victim as 67-year-old Steven Winn, a long-time member of the school’s crossing guard team. According to the Layton City Police Department, Winn was wearing a reflective vest and holding a stop sign when he was hit by a northbound driver.
