President Joe Biden this week appeared at the international climate change conference in Glasgow, Scotland. However, during Monday’s meeting, the President appeared to close his eyes, thereafter becoming the subject of accusations suggesting he had fallen asleep.
Shortly afterward, a video of Biden spread across the internet, with people mocking him for apparently taking a snooze. Naturally, former President Donald Trump was one of the first in line to put the boot in.
Speaking with Fox News, Trump mocked Biden for appearing to fall asleep – and also took the time to slam his administration as a “disaster.”
President Biden attended the international climate change conference in Glasgow, Scotland. However, during one of the meetings, the camera caught him at what appeared to be a very bad time.
Video footage emerged of the President sitting with his eyes closed at the climate change summit. Zach Purser Brown, with The Washington Post, posted a video on Twitter wherein the president closes his eyes for 20 seconds before an aide approached him. Biden then opened his eyes and clapped as the speech ended.
While some criticized the president for apparently resting his heavy lids, others also expressed sympathy for him because of his jet-lagged state. One figure who had no room for excuses was … yep, you guessed it … Donald Trump.
In a statement, Trump insisted that Biden had fallen asleep. The reason? Because he couldn’t bear to hear more about global warming, according to Trump.
He also claimed that some of the cases discussed during the meeting were hoaxes.
“Even Biden couldn’t stand hearing so much about the Global Warming Hoax, the 7th biggest Hoax in America, followed closely behind by the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, Russia, Russia, Russia, Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2 and, of course, the ‘No Collusion’ finding of the Mueller Report,” Trump said in a statement.
“Biden went to Europe saying Global Warming is his highest priority, and then promptly fell asleep, for all the world to see, at the Conference itself,” he added. “Nobody that has true enthusiasm and belief in a subject will ever fall asleep!”
At the summit in Glasgow, Biden also flashed his claws in Trump’s direction when he apologized to world leaders about “the last administration”. The President said Trump put climate change “behind the eight ball a little bit” by pulling out of the Paris climate agreement.
