Ogden, UT – A man has died after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to repair his car on the side of SR-91, according to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP).
Officials say the incident occurred near mile marker zero, just off of I-15, when the man was believed to be outside his vehicle working on repairs. At some point, another vehicle sideswiped him, causing the fatal collision. Emergency responders arrived on the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. No further details have been released regarding the driver or the circumstances of the crash.
The accident led to significant traffic disruptions on I-15, with three lanes, including the right shoulder, being blocked for an extended period. Officials did not provide an estimated clearance time for the blocked lanes, leading to delays for motorists traveling through the area.
The Utah Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
