“American Idol” alum Chris Daughtry and his family are hit with an unbearable loss after the singer’s daughter was found dead on Friday, November 12, 2021.

After his daughter, Hannah Daughtry, was found dead at her home, the singer put up a post on social media and revealed that he was robbed of the chance to say goodbye to his 25-year-old child.

“I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken,” Daughtry said. “I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately. We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it’s another huge hit to our family.”

“Thank you all for your kind words and condolences,” the singer continued. “They are truly felt and appreciated. I am now taking time be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss.”

The grieving father also added, “Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply.”

According to TMZ, sources have revealed that detectives informed Daughtry’s family about Hannah’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

At the time of her death, Hannah was reportedly in a relationship with Bobby Jolly, who was arrested at Fentress County Jail on the day the young woman was found dead. So far, authorities have not revealed how the boyfriend is connected to Hannah’s death or whether he is a suspect or person of interest in the case.

Following the tragic news, Daughtry’s band revealed that they are hitting the brakes on his concert tour. The singer, who came in the 4th position on the 5th season of “American Idol,” was touring around the country when the harrowing incident took place. He was scheduled to perform in Atlantic City on Friday, however, the band has postponed the concert dates.

“Due to the unexpected death of Chris and Deanna Daughtry’s daughter, Hannah, all currently scheduled shows for the coming week for Daughtry have been canceled or postponed,” the band said, as quoted by CNN. “The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding and respectfully asks for privacy during this very difficult time. Further details will be made available at a later date. The investigation into this tragic death is still ongoing.”

Reports say that Hannah was the oldest of Daughtry’s four children with his wife, Deanna Daughtry. Hannah and her younger brother, Griffin, were children Deanna had from a previous relationship. With the singer, Deanna shares 10-year-old twins, Adalynn Rose and Noah James.

Deanna shared an emotional message on Instagram after the death of her daughter was announced. “My first born. I love you endlessly Hannah,” Deanna wrote. “Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of our daughter Hannah. We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death. Our hearts are broken.”
