WEST JORDAN, Utah – A hit-and-run crash caused significant disruptions Tuesday evening, closing southbound Redwood Road for several hours. The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Redwood Road and Gardner Lane, when a motorcycle collided with a dark-colored SUV.
According to Dirk Petersen with the West Jordan Police Department, the SUV fled the scene heading westbound on Gardner Lane. Authorities have not yet located the vehicle, and the driver remains at large. Police are urging anyone with information about the crash or the whereabouts of the SUV to come forward and assist in the investigation.
As a result of the crash, southbound Redwood Road, from 8200 South to 8700 South, was closed while an accident reconstruction team investigated the scene. The roadblock lasted for several hours, causing delays for commuters in the area.
The West Jordan Police Department is continuing to search for the fleeing vehicle, and officials are asking the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the dark-colored SUV.
Authorities are emphasizing the importance of coming forward with any information that may help solve this case and bring the responsible driver to justice.
