Ogden, UT – Three people were seriously injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 15 Sunday afternoon after a northbound pickup truck lost control and struck a cement barrier near Church Street.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the driver of the Dodge Ram pickup, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not seriously injured. However, three of the truck’s five occupants were ejected from the vehicle after it struck the barrier and rolled several times. Authorities say the ejected individuals were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Cpt. Eddie Wright of the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed that emergency responders airlifted one of the ejected passengers to a nearby hospital, while two others were transported by ground ambulance. The remaining two occupants, both of whom were wearing seatbelts, were unharmed in the incident.
The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m., and the scene was cleared by emergency crews. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash. Investigators are still looking into the cause of the accident.
The identities of the individuals involved have not been released, and further details will be made available as the investigation progresses.
Authorities are reminding motorists to always wear seatbelts, as they can significantly reduce the risk of serious injury in the event of an accident.
