UTAH – Utah State’s Autumn DeHarde and Maia Fishwick were both honored by the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference following their respective performances against No. 19 Southern Utah on Friday night.
DeHarde, making her season debut, was named the MRGC Beam Specialist of the Week after capturing the event title with a 9.925, which is tied for eighth all-time in school history. The native of Sussex, Wis., now has 22 career titles, including a school-record 13 on beam.
It is the first time this year, and 13th time in her career, that the senior has picked up a weekly honor from the MRGC. Overall, these are Utah State’s first and second weekly accolades this season and the 45th and 46th honors in its sixth season in the league.
Fishwick earned the title on bars against the Flippin’ Birds with a personal-best 9.950, which is tied for third-all time in school history, to share MRGC co-Bars Specialist of the Week accolades with Boise State’s Emily Muhlenhaupt. It is the first time this year and first time in her career that the sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, has garnered a weekly honor from the MRGC.
No. 24 Utah State opened the home portion of its schedule with a 196.650-196.225 loss to No. Southern Utah in front of 1,182 fans this past Friday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
