LEEDS, Utah – A vehicle fire erupted Sunday afternoon, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky. At approximately 3 p.m., crews from Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene, located about 2.5 miles up Oak Grove Road in Leeds.
When firefighters arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Fortunately, all occupants had safely exited the vehicle before it became fully consumed by the fire, according to the fire department.
Despite the intensity of the blaze, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby vegetation. The prompt response and efficient efforts from the fire crews are credited with averting a potentially larger disaster in the area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities are working to determine what led to the vehicle’s ignition.
No injuries were reported, and the fire department has urged residents to stay vigilant in case of further updates regarding the investigation.
