Driver Causes Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-15 After Fleeing Accident, Leaving Several Injured

Ogden, UT — A dramatic series of events unfolded on Interstate 15 Tuesday morning after a woman allegedly fled the scene of a crash she caused, driving the wrong way on the highway before crashing into several vehicles. The collision caused her car to burst into flames, injuring three individuals and damaging five vehicles.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the incident began when the female driver of a Dodge Charger sideswiped another vehicle while traveling northbound on I-15 near Pioneer Crossing in Lehi. Instead of stopping, the driver made a U-turn on the highway, heading southbound in the northbound lanes, directly into oncoming traffic.

As the driver traveled in the wrong direction, she struck multiple vehicles. The Dodge Charger was ultimately engulfed in flames after the crash. A semi-truck, attempting to avoid the chaos, swerved and collided with another vehicle, further complicating the already dangerous situation.

Witnesses to the scene said the crash caused significant traffic delays, as authorities worked to clear the wreckage and assess the situation. Utah Highway Patrol officials confirmed that three people sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Fortunately, no one involved in the crash sustained critical injuries.

The female driver of the Dodge Charger was pulled from her burning vehicle and taken to a hospital. Her current condition has not been disclosed, but she is expected to survive.

The accident left several lanes of northbound I-15 blocked for hours, causing heavy traffic backups during the morning commute. The highway reopened at approximately 10:30 a.m. after the wreckage was cleared.

Authorities have not yet released details on potential charges but are continuing to investigate the sequence of events leading to the crash. This incident highlights the dangers of attempting to flee an accident and the devastating consequences it can have on both the driver and others on the road
