South Ogden, Utah — Strong wind gusts that swept through northern Utah early Tuesday morning led to widespread power outages in the South Ogden area. At the height of the disruption, approximately 6,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers were left without electricity. By 8:30 a.m., the number of outages had decreased to 1,600, and power was fully restored by 9:00 a.m. According to Jona Whitesides, a spokesperson for Rocky Mountain Power, the outages were caused by intense wind conditions, which included gusts reaching up to 55 miles per hour. TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — A shooting occurred Wednesday morning in Tooele County, leaving a driver seriously injured after an exchange of gunfire with a man who had attempted to help him. Authorities are investigating the incident, which took place near Burmester Road and Interstate 80, just outside of Grantsville.
