Ogden, UT – Ogden Police UT officers took part in Read Across America Week last week, visiting several Ogden School District elementary schools to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading among students. During the visits, officers spent time in classrooms, engaged with students, and highlighted the importance of reading, helping strengthen positive relationships with Ogden’s next generation. The department thanked the Ogden School District and teachers for welcoming them into the classrooms.

City officials said when non-accepted items, food waste, or unclean containers are placed in recycling carts, entire truckloads can be rejected and sent to the landfill, increasing overall costs. Residents are encouraged to follow a few key steps to help the program run smoothly, including placing accepted items loose in carts rather than in bags, rinsing containers before recycling, and keeping plastic bags out of recycling bins because they can jam sorting equipment.
